Puppy health Guarantee
Vaccines, Testing, & Pet Insurance.
Bringing home a puppy should come with confidence and peace of mind. At Douglas Dudes & Dudettes, every puppy is raised with careful attention to health, early development, and responsible breeding practices. From genetic testing and veterinary care to vaccination schedules and health guarantees, our goal is to give each puppy the strongest possible start before joining their new family.
Buyer Responsibilities
To maintain the health guarantee, new owners agree to:
• Schedule an initial veterinary exam within 72 hours (3 days) of receiving the puppy
• Activate the 30-day Trupanion pet insurance coverage provided at pick-up
• Provide proper care including nutrition, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and routine veterinary care
These steps help ensure that each puppy continues receiving proper medical care after leaving our home.

What the Health Guarantee Covers
If a life-threatening congenital or hereditary condition is diagnosed within the two-year guarantee period:
• The breeder must be notified within 48 hours of diagnosis
• The condition must be confirmed in writing by two licensed veterinarians
Once verified, the breeder may provide one of the following options:
• A replacement puppy of equal value from a future litter, or
• A refund of up to 50% of the purchase price

Health Guarantee Exclusions
The health guarantee does not cover conditions that are considered minor, cosmetic, or caused by external factors. Examples include:
• Minor hernias or undescended testicles
• Cosmetic traits or breed-common characteristics
• Injury, accidents, trauma, or neglect
• Parasites that are common and treatable
• Conditions caused by poor nutrition or failure to follow veterinary advice

Our Commitment to Every Puppy
We believe responsible breeding extends beyond the moment a puppy goes home. Our goal is to raise healthy, confident dogs and provide ongoing support to the families who welcome them into their homes.
If at any time an owner becomes unable to keep their dog, we ask that the breeder be contacted first so we can assist with rehoming and ensure the dog is placed in a safe and loving environment.
