If you're looking for a breeder who always has puppies available, we're probably not the right fit.

At The Douglas Dudes & Dudettes, we're dog parents first and breeders second. Our dogs live in our home, not in kennels, and every breeding decision is made with one goal in mind: producing healthy, well-tempered puppies that improve the breed.

That means we only have a few carefully planned litters each year.

What many people don't see is the work that happens behind the scenes. We may raise a promising puppy for a year or more before we even know if they're healthy enough, genetically and structurally, to become part of our breeding program. Sometimes they don't meet the standards we've set—and while that's heartbreaking, it's a decision we'll make every single time if it's what's best for the breed.

There are difficult choices, setbacks, and plenty of emotional moments along the way. But we refuse to compromise our standards just to have puppies available year-round.

We know today's world is built around instant gratification, but responsible breeding doesn't work that way. Quality takes time.
